Located opposite Lake Taupo, Lakefront Lodge is an older building, as shows in the rooms, but they are clean, comfortable and fully stocked. The staff are amazing, including the owner, and if you're lucky, you may get to walk the receptionist's dog, Lion. Special mention to Ashish in the restaurant also, who moved me to a window table as soon as one came free without me even asking. The food was great and I recommend the tacos, and the desserts.
